With journalist Stamos Archontis from Ellinika Hoaxes, MedDMO participates in the action group set up by EDMO to combat disinformation ahead of the 2024 European elections.
Building on the experience of the corresponding EDMO Task Force on disinformation about the war in Ukraine, the new task force plans to carry out a risk assessment exercise before 2024, with the aim of creating a framework for future elections, as well as submitting regular activity reports on with the trends of disinformation concerning the democratic processes and the institutions of the European Union.
The composition of the group, EDMO says in a statement, reflects the high level of cooperation between the 14 national and regional hubs that are part of the network and includes a representative from each Hub plus three members from the EDMO Advisory Council.
The Chair will be Giovanni Zagni, member of EDMO’s Executive Board and IDMO, with Louise Carnapete-Rinieri (European University Institute) acting as Secretary.
