The scope of disinformation related to Ukraine and the coronavirus pandemic in May in the European Union continues to move steadily, while cases of disinformation related to climate change continue to increase.
This is the central conclusion of the information note of the European Digital Media Observatory for the month of May, during which 1,361 fact-checked articles from a total of 28 fact-checking organizations were analyzed.
At the same time, the monitoring by the Observatory began to find cases of disinformation that are directed straight to the EU and its institutions, as European elections will be held in one year from now, in June 2024.
Disinformation regarding content produced through Artificial Intelligence remains at low levels (4%).
