The Mediterranean Digital Media Observatory (MedDMO) is holding its 4th plenary meeting in Paris, hosted at the AFP Headquarters. This key event has brought together all nine partners of the consortium to discuss the future trajectory of MedDMO, focusing on the possibility of launching a MedDMO 2 campaign.
Topics on the agenda include the furthering of collaboration between MedDMO and the European Digital Media Observatory (EDMO), advances in disinformation detection, and research initiatives. Emphasis is placed on the ongoing monitoring of the media ecosystems in Greece, Cyprus, and Malta, which continue to face unique disinformation challenges. In addition, the group is reviewing media literacy efforts designed to enhance public awareness and foster critical thinking skills.
The meeting also features discussions on potential collaboration with other hubs to strengthen MedDMO’s outreach and effectiveness in future campaigns. Feedback from EDMO working groups is shared, offering insights into how MedDMO can improve its engagement and sustainability. Communication strategies and project coordination are also addressed, highlighting the importance of maintaining a strong partnership across the consortium.
