Truly Media is the prime collaborative fact-checking platform for news verification purposes in Europe, developed by ATC with the assistance of Deutsche Welle, whose input was essential in making sure it was the right fit for the cooperating nature of computational investigative journalism.
It’s an end-to-end solution that is used by fact checking teams that are members of EDMO (European Digital Media Observatory), a key component of European Commission’s action against disinformation, towards which ATC is also an active partner. But other major media outlets, such as Reuters and ZDF have also been using it.
Truly Media (www.truly.media) is a web-based platform that allows users to find, organize, and collaboratively verify content originating from social media or web sources.
Users use the application in collaboration with their team to aggregate content, manage and verify it, helped by an automated process of deep analysis of sources (digital footprint, reliability, cross checking of information, etc.) and content (reverse image search, exif data when available, provenance, etc.).
As an open platform, Truly Media also allows the integration of third-party tools and services, like TinEye, Google Reverse Image Search, Wolfram Alpha, etc. which are used in the verification process of online information.
