Cyprus: Journalists trained on misinformation and content verification practices

Journalists working for the Cypriot media participated in the workshop on “Disinformation, Techniques and Tools for Content Verification”, co-organized on Monday 16 September 2024 at the premises of the Journalism Centre in Nicosia, by the Journalism Programme of the University of Cyprus and the Cyprus Union of Journalists within the auspices of the project “Mediterranean Digital Media Observatory – MedDMO”.

The event is part of a series of events/activities related to digital literacy and media literacy. Researchers and academic staff from the University of Cyprus presented tools and practices that can be used for content verification and fact-checking. Participants showed a keen interest in the methods and techniques of content verification presented, and in participating in similar initiatives in the future.
