With the support of the Global Fact Check Fund – a funding managed by the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) – Ellinika Hoaxes designed and implemented ClimateCheckGROW project, a new initiative aimed at combating misinformation about the environment and climate change.
The phenomenon of misinformation on climate and energy issues is on the rise, affecting both public opinion and the implementation of environmental policies. ClimateCheckGROW attempts to contribute to addressing this challenge through documented articles that make scientific knowledge understandable and accessible to the general public.
Ellinika Hoaxes, within the framework of the program, has been employing people with environmental studies since the beginning of the year, who have edited and published several fact-checking and explainer articles. Some of these have even been shared with MedDMO, such as:

Misinformation about CO₂, its relationship with temperature and anthropogenic climate change

Risk-based claims about pole shifts and volcanic eruptions

Unfounded claims about green energy, climate change and droughts
