Disinformation is one of the most pressing challenges of the digital age. To inform and empower media professionals, educators, and citizens, the event “Digital Tools & Actions Against Disinformation” will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 10:00 AM, under the auspices of the Mediterranean Digital Media Observatory.
The event will take place at the Journalists’ Union of Macedonia and Thrace, 5 Stratigou Kallari St., in Thessaloniki, with the option of online participation via Zoom.
The programme includes presentations by leading experts, with a focus on the ongoing activities of the Mediterranean Digital Media Observatory. Participants will explore a comparative statistical analysis of fact-checking practices at the Mediterranean and European levels, gain insights into dominant disinformation narratives in Greece, and become familiar with collaborative verification tools such as Truly Media. Additionally, innovative technologies for detecting manipulated audiovisual content will be presented, along with the MediaPot platform for multimedia content analysis.
The event will be conducted in Greek.
