An increase in disinformation around the war in Ukraine and migration was recorded in April 2026, according to EDMO’s 59th monthly brief.
The brief also focuses extensively on disinformation around the elections in Hungary, with pro-Russian narratives targeting the newly elected Prime Minister, Péter Magyar, and members of his family. At the same time, in Bulgaria, attempts were recorded to discredit Euro-Atlantic institutions, Ukraine and its president, Volodymyr Zelensky.
The report’s data also show a decrease in disinformation content generated or modified using artificial intelligence, while the war in Ukraine remained a constant target of disinformation at the European level.
