Assistant Professor Theodora Maniou delivered a presentation entitled “Partisan Shadows over Journalism: Structural Dependencies, Political Influences and Disinformation in the Cypriot Media” on Thursday, 25 June 2026. During the presentation, Dr. Maniou examined the structural dependencies and political influences that shape the Cypriot media landscape, as well as the challenges associated with the spread of disinformation.
She also presented findings from studies conducted in Cyprus as part of the Mediterranean Digital Media Observatory (MedDMO) project, focusing on the country’s media system and its distinctive characteristics as they have evolved in recent years.
