The most heavily disinformation-driven topic in June 2025 was the 12-day war between Israel and Iran, which also contributed to a significant increase in AI-generated disinformation.
At the same time, continuing the trend seen in recent months, the war in Ukraine also continued to attract a lot of attention, with 10% of all false claims related to it.
Meanwhile, fake news related to the European Union and Covid-19 decreased, as did disinformation about the conflict involving Israel and Hamas in Gaza, possibly due to the shift in attention to the war with Iran.
